THE WINTER SHOW BY MANON COUSE
It’s winter, time for introspection. This exhibition presents the last serie of art work from artist Manon Couse. This young visual artist and photograph has above all focused on human condition, exploring themes such as the childhood, the time, the feminine, the masculine, the sexuality, or the faith. This is, according to Manon, questions that matters to be handled, as well as esthetically as icongraphically.
Manon Couse is a young working plastic artist living in Paris. Originally from France and Canada, Manon is a self-taught artist. From the painting to the photography, including the collage and the construction, she leads us in a spiritual quest, a quest of beauty, where everybody can find himself concerns.
The serie of collages introduced at the exhibition, which tend to lock his nude subjects in a funny space giving the public a dimension that get away from him, is discussed as part of a much wider work on the women aspect and rise a question the artist didn’t finish to explore.
Her very last work presents women, girls; strong, weak, in love or loved, alive or faded. Thus, the artist is questionning herself: “As a woman, who am I?”
